Three miles from your doorstep are the magnificent limestone cliffs of Sutton Bank to take in your stride to the top of Kilburn White Horse and gaze up at the gliders that take off from there.
There are six other mapped walks from Sutton Bank, but have a coffee and take a tour around the Visitor Centre before marching on!

Stroll around historic York with its Minster, Castle Walls and museums, including the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Centre.
Saunter amongst so many castles and abbeys - Fountains, Rievaulx, Helmsley.
Drive over the Moors to the coast and after Whitby and Scarborough explore the fascinating old fishing villlages of Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes etc.
Hop on and off the North York Moors Steam Railway.
Wander around many Stately Homes and Gardens or follow Craft, Heritage and Food trails in and out of the market towns and diverse villages.
Westwards takes you to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, to Wharfdale, Nidderdale, Swaledale and beyond and offers a contrasting style of countryside to the Moors.
Keep the children amused at Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley Leisure Parks and Thirsk itself has an indoor swimming pool at the Leisure Centre and intriguing nostalgia at the James Herriot Visitor Centre.
